MagnaCut knives compared: exact variants and maker specifications

These four exact variants have maker-published CPM-MagnaCut evidence. Compare their opening mechanisms, carry systems and source limits before choosing. This is a spec- and source-based comparison, not a hands-on test or a steel-performance ranking. Prices appear only when a loaded, dated AvantLink feed row matches the exact variant and steel generation.

Which exact models have maker-confirmed MagnaCut?

The maker sources identify the Kershaw Bel Air 6105, current MagnaCut Link 1776OLSW, Hogue Deka 24379 and Spyderco Native Chief Salt C244PYL PlainEdge. Keep each code with its source date. A shared family name is insufficient: Kershaw explicitly says older Link production used CPM 20CV, and Hogue’s G10 Deka family also has a different steel.

What differs beyond the steel name?

The Bel Air and Deka use manual opening and crossbar mechanisms; the Link uses assisted opening and a liner lock; the Native Chief uses a back lock. Their maker-listed dimensions and carry options differ, and some dimensions were unavailable in the opened page. Missing values stay unknown. This table cannot establish strength, comfort or finished-knife performance.

How do MagnaCut and S30V differ?

The producer composition chart and MagnaCut versus S30V reference explain the published alloy records. Chemistry identifies the steel; it does not supply a common test of these four finished knives. Read those references alongside the knife’s edge geometry, heat-treatment documentation and maker care instructions. The links below lead to the chart and comparison.

How did we choose these candidates?

Each exact variant has a maker source naming CPM MagnaCut, and each profile states what that source did not provide. The roster spans opening and lock formats without awarding a steel ranking. Manufacturer catalogs and releases remain specification evidence, not current stock checks. No price is borrowed from a maker MSRP, search snippet or a different steel generation.
