Beast of a knife!

David B.

I bought this knife years ago and it was perfect. It was a beast due to its size and I love the desert camo color. The double lock, to close the blade, made me feel much safer when using the knife and did not take long to get used to at all. I unfortunately lost this knife though but I would buy it again and again.

Current work EDC

My wife purchased this knife for me as a gift in 2006 or so. It was my EDC for years, and still is for work, and was only recently replaced for casual use by a smaller model. This knife is fairly large in the hand and is not very subtle. The AUS 8A steel isn't the best at holding an edge compared to higher end steel, but does take an edge easily. The lockup is secure and the Lawks read more safety is a plus, in my opinion. After a little practice you can disengage the safety easily, although friends who are unfamiliar with it will struggle. Humorously. The blade geometry has kept the point in good condition and the aluminum handle has held up well despite being used inappropriately as a hammer on occasion. The grind on the blade is kind of a chisel grind, which I could take or leave, but is easy enough to deal with. This knife was double the current price when it came out, and I thought it was fair at the time, the new price is great.
