Great Bang! for the buck

LOUIS A.

This is a really well make knife. There is only one sharp edge; that's the lower edge of the blade. And that edge was sharp out of the box. All the other edges on the knife are chamfered or slightly rounded. The lines of the knife are clean and simple. They flow smoothly from one to another so there are no sharp angles. It flips open without any problem and locks up tight. The jimping read more is nicely done and well placed. Price is excellent for what you get.

I just received my but I immediately put it to use to cut up a bunch of shipping boxes for recycling. It went through the cardboard without any problem.

My one nitpick is the "blue" color. it is much darker than the photos. It is more of an indigo color, much like Spyderco "blurple."

This is the best gift knife I can think of

Stephen C.

The fit and finish on this knife for the cost are superb. I gave this as a gift to a friend. She recently started enjoying nicer EDCs, but was carrying CRKT and other junk knives. This knife was very well received as a gift. She was blown away by the cutting ability. The hollow grind and thin blade geometry make this such an effortless slicer. I opted to have her name engraved on read more the blade and even with this extra step I still received the knife in less than one week I am very, very happy with my experience and purchase.

My First Tanto Pocket Knife

Claudia P.

And I love it! This is a great, solid, and well-built knife. It has great weight and feels substantial in hand, despite its size. The action is very smooth. I was super torn between this and the copper one, but I have several copper knives, so I switched it up for once and got this gorgeous brass one. The pocket clip is not reversible, so keep that in mind. The elementum was already read more the perfect pocket knife and this tanto version is no exception.

Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Nitpick: non reversible clip.

Very nice knife

Looks-wise this is fantastic, blade is super sharp out of the bag and the weight is perfect for EDC. This will certainly make it into the rotation.

Nice but not perfect

This is my 4th Elementum and while the brass scales are nice and blade is centered, this action is not as snappy as my other Elementums. I will take apart, lube and adjust and see how it feels, but out of the box the action and lock-up are “chalky” and not as smooth as my other Civivi knives.

I LOVE THIS THING

Hey guys, I don't usually write reviews for knives, but for this, I just had to. This knife is so incredibly smooth as far as action. It slides open with the ease of a spring-assisted knife. The simple, elegant lines look so nice. Its simplistic design is mostly the reason I got it. I have some more flashy pocketknives, such as the Boker Black Widow, and I love them, but sometimes read more they just stand out too much. I already had some more subtle knives as well, but they didn't really click for me if you know what I mean. This one totally fills that hole in my collection. The Micarta looks and feels really nice, and the blade just looks clean and simple. A lot of people won't buy this knife cause of the D2 steel, but that angers me. Sure, it's not premium steel, but it honestly doesn't matter as much as steel snobs say it does. For an EDC blade, it will do just fine, and in my opinion, it is not worth paying the buckets of extra cash for stuff like M390 or something of that tier. It's ridiculous not to buy this incredible little knife because it's not made of the best steel out there. This knife is a real gem, price aside. Just buy it

Wow is what I can say. This knife came from the factory perfect! Absolutely perfect. If your considering getting an Elementum or anything from Civivi don't pass up this knife is perfect, centering is perfect, fit and finish is perfect, action is perfect, and Value is perfect. And to top it all of you get an awesome carrying case with some accessories in it, which is a good quality read more cleaning cloth, a few stickers, and a instruction sheet. I've heard it before and I can confirm that if a knife is not perfect it will not leave their factory. Get an Elementum its an around $50-$80 knife that feels like its a $150 custom. I have always loved the Elementum.

Great for the money

Knife is everything I expected based on the hype. Fires great, came sharp, solid build.
One complaint is the black wash is a bit dark for me. Why have copper if you are going to paint it black? Nothing a few mins with some polish didn’t fix though, brightened up the edges and removed a little bit of the black to show the copper while leaving the nice brushed patina pattern.

Not all knives are created equal

CHAD A.

I was told from a young age that a knife is a knife. We use them as tools.
I can tell you this is not the case. The elementum is high craftsmanship. The blade is thin and sleek yet strong and study. The micarta is soft yet rugged at the same time. Even the liner lock snaps into place nicely and yet is easy to work. This is such a nice knife and yet a great tool all at the same read more time. I have been living under a rock. It puts to shame the $35 clunky Kershaw I bought from the box store. (No offense Kershaw). No people were held at knife point while making this review. LoL

Excellent knife for an excellent price

This beautiful knife came razor sharp and the size, balance and weight make it ideal for EDC.

Flipper action was not perfect, felt a bit gritty when I manually made the blade travel. I put a little oil and it's good now. Being a tip-up carry worried me a bit but the detent is working fine. I got mine for $40! What a great buy.

Small knife

John R.

So being a Civivi fan, thought I'd try the Elementum. Color is blue, the first thing I noticed when opening the blade, is how small this knife is, Knew the blade was under 3 inches, but it's only a 4 finger knife, doesn't fill my average size hand. I'll take the big bad Civivi Naja any day for my EDC, but the Elementum goes in the drawer with other seldom used knifes. No markings read more on blade such as steel or where it's manufactured. Of course civivi is made in china. The web site says D2, but that's the only place I see blade steel type. This would be o.k. for someone with small hands.

Great budget knife!

Seriously, for the price this knife is hard to beat. The g10 feels good in the hand & looks fantastic! D2 steel with beautiful grind work & razor sharp out of the box. It even comes with a case, I don't understand it but seems like a luxury option, also comes with a cleaning cloth & swag. The action is amazing, buttery smooth, I can't stop flipping it open! This company seems to read more care about the products they produce, lots of nice details on this blade. Thanks blade HQ!

I have multiple Elementums at this point including the Fixed models and they have never disappointed me. A very practical EDC with jaw-dropping quality. One of the smoothest folders I have. Great price too.

Blade is cheap

Michael M.

The knife is beautiful and decently sharp but the quality of the blade isn't near as good as the other knives I've purchased through Blade HQ. If you are looking for pocket jewelry it fits the bill, but if you are looking for daily use out of your knife then I would go with the standard Civivi Elementum.

S35VN + Flytanium scales

Scott B.

This is my 3rd Elementum so far, including my fixed blade version. I absolutely love the simple and almost elegant design, the quality of the build, and of course the price. Once I saw that Flytanium started making contoured Ti scales for it, I knew it was time to upgrade my D2 Elementum. But seeing the stonewash finish of the scales, I figured it would match this S35VN version read more nearly perfect... and I wasn't wrong. The stonewashed S35VN blade and the matching hardware, it all matches so well. Definitely recommend the Flytanium scales for this one.

As far as it goes with the knife itself, it's great. The S35VN blade is thinner and lighter than the D2 version, which is noticeable in the action. It doesn't "hit" as hard when you flip open the blade with the S35VN, but it's still smooth as butter just as expected from a Civivi. The Jade G-10 scales look okay in my opinion, but if I ever put them back on, or swap the scales on my D2, I'm thinking I'll probably dye them. BladeHQ has a good YouTube video showing how to do it too so I'll try it to further customize my growing collection of knives.

So my verdict on this knife? Buy it. It's worth it especially at this price.

Amazing Knife! best Value for the Money!

The title says it, but that may be selling it short. The construction of this knife is rock-solid. The bearings on the action are butter smooth; the best action I’ve ever experienced besides their $$ parent company, WE Knives. Beats Benchmade, Spyderco, and the rest in that regard. I have an extensive knife collection and I say that with confidence. The blade is as sharp as a read more razor; the sharpest factory blade out there. It’s also a very aesthetic knife; I bought 4 varieties and they’re all equally expert craftsmanship and beautiful; I really like the natural almost jade-tone scales on this one. If you’re thinking about buying this knife, do it. I would be very surprised if you are not similarly pleased. This is one of the best production knives I own at price points up to $400 and at a fraction of the cost.

This knife has gained popularity since it was first offered and Civivi has rapidly gained popularity for their reasonable prices, innovative designs and ever-expanding lineup. I have had a Ferum Forge Gent for a number of years and this one has a very similar profile and under half the price. It's is my preferred length of 7 inches. Really does look amazing! In the right lighting where you can really appreciate the depth of the material in the handles these scales are magnificent! The silver and carbon floating in the clear resin just looks SO good. And they feel really sturdy. Very smooth finish too, with little to no voiding in mine. Might be lucky as I know that can happen. But this little guy is just about read more perfect!

Blue color is poorly represented in the photo.

Mark l.

Its an Elementum, so right off the bat, its a great knife for EDC, which is why I own many.

But I was hoping it would be a more of a traditional "blade hq blue"(as seen in the photo) than the original I got back when the elementum first came out, which was more of a purplish blue.

Nope. In fact I think its actually even more on the purple side than the original.

So read more if that is your thing, awesome. But if you are hoping the color to scream "Whaaat isss up guys!", this is not that.

Solid Knife, Great Value

Erik Z.

I purchased this knife a few months ago, I found that it's a very smooth and simple knife to operate. It cuts well due to its blade geometry (thin behind the edge hollow grind?), however, it didn't stay in my possession for too long. I gave it away to a coworker who was using his keys to open packages and I think it has found a better home with him. The advantage of a solid knife read more like this for a very affordable price is that if you find yourself not liking it, or liking it so much that you want to spread the joy of this hobby, you're not left hurting when you let her go. I would recommend this as a minimalist option to anyone who has trouble with losing their stuff, the high visibility orange g10 scales work magic in that regard.

Love it!

Wow! Still in stock! This knife is a deal with S35VN. How are they in stock still?

This close >< to being perfect

J. P.

This knife has a nice form factor, as it fits in the hand in a way the clip actually enhances the otherwise flat finish on the scales without digging or being uncomfortable. The action is smooth out of the box, but a little stiff resulting in a few misfires...nothing a quick adjustment with a torx can't fix. The blade and steel frame finish is flawless, so much so the first thing read more I wanted to do was darken it, so instead I'll trade this version in for the already darkened one.

Underwhelmed by s35vn

Kelsey W.

I love the elementum, but was starting to get a spot of rust on my d2 and decided to get the s35vn model for easier maintenance. And the steel they used in this model I have found to be almost less corrosion resistant than my d2. I like the natural g10 scales, and if that’s what you like about this knife I’ld recommend it, but if you are excited about upgrading the steel, I’ld read more recommend saving your money. Mine hasn’t held up very well.

Perfect EDC

Justin T.

This knife has characteristics of a knife that costs twice as much. Blade centering is spot-on, razor sharp, skeletonized liner, and fast action. Everyone should have one of these.

Only “con” I’ve noticed is there is a touch of grinding when closing the knife, but it’s minimal and doesn’t affect the speed of opening.

Great knife and amazing price!

Doesn't Last

DEAN C.

I purchased this knife on a whim and all the hype from all the knife guys. Barely lasted one seven-month deployment. The clip bent out, and I was unable to put it back, so it kept slipping out of my pocket. And after the first exposure to ocean air caused the blade and frame to rust instantly. After using it a handful of times, the blade became ridiculously dull. Maybe this wasn't read more the right blade for a sea-faring Sailor, but even my more budget knives have lasted longer in similar or harsher environments.

Instant classic do the job knife

Tasha v.

I had two other knives before this, but I knew I wanted to start collecting. This was my first micarta, my first flipper, and my first bearings similar to another reviewer. I am now hooked on knives and learning everything. The Elementum itself has great micarta with a very pleasant texture, the blade shape and finish are visually appealing, and the flip action enjoyable and reliable read more (I did add some oil the first day, carefully). Carries great in the pocket, it is not too heavy, and has nice jimping in all the desired places. It is a joy to use. Take care of the steel and no reason this knife doesn't last for a long, long time. If this is indicative of Civivi general quality, I'll be getting a lot more.

Pretty knife with one major flaw.

Zach c.

This knife was amazing when it first arrived. Civivi makes phenomenal blades and does a great job with the packaging and a great-looking knife. The blade is very sharp and the knife is good in the hand and a great EDC. Weight is a minor issue although I personally like a heavier knife so I got the copper which is perfect. The MAJOR problem with this knife is how easily it rusts. read more With just 2 days of carrying it in my pocket and being exposed to no water besides humidity the blade already has surface rust across the entire blade. Again, no exposure to water, just a humid day in my pocket. I was very disappointed to see this on this beautiful knife. If you live in a wet environment or even a moderately humid environment id be hesitant to carry this daily outside.

Excellent

Lets see...

Pleasantly Surprised.

I only got this to bump up my order total to get all the free stuff at the anniversary sale, figuring it would be a nice cheap beater to use around the house.

I wanted to hate it and expected to hate it due to past experience with budget Chinese folders.

But, I don't hate it. I rather like it. I even put it in my EDC rotation.

Fit and finish is nearly perfect, read more the action is nearly perfect, the blade centering is nearly perfect.

What stood out the most is the detent ball fits snugly and perfectly into its hole. I've only seen such detent perfection before on my Chris Reeve knives and some of the higher end Spydies and ZT's. I never expected it on a 50 dollar budget knife.

Overall this is a solid EDC folder. After a month of use I can see it will hold up very well over years of use.

Agreed

Buddy G.

Most all these reviews are spot on. I would give it a 5 if it was a little sturdier. I love the micarta and shape of the blade. The blade feels a little wiggly though. I would have no problem cleaning a deer with it were it not for that. feels like something might snap if you twist it in a hip joint. We'll see when season rolls around again.

Excellent EDC

Tony F.

I've been carrying this for almost two months and have nothing but good to say about it. It's the perfect size and fit in my hand. It flips open perfectly, cuts great, and is easy to close. It's so thin it generally doesn't print in the pocket in deep carry (I don't use the clip and am debating whether to take it off) and is light enough you don't really feel it in the pocket. If read more I had one negative it's that the natural G-10 scales are a bit too light and allow the internal skeletonizing of the liner frame to be seen when viewed with any type of light from behind it. You can see that in the photos for the knife. While the natural /jade color is cool except for this issue, if the S35VN blade is available in a darker scale color, I'd advise buyers to consider that (or micarta, when available).

Wood handled masterpiece. BUT...

Bernard R.

Just like when I was a kid and would leave a wet glass on the table, I would’ve got yelled at for letting this knife get water stained. The wood suffered water stains from being in my pocket on a particularly hot and sweaty day. Once I get the stain out, I’ll consider sealing the wood scales with a waterproof stain or sealant. A side-effect of the lovely wood I hadn’t considered. read more Otherwise, an essentially flawless addition to my EDC. I wonder how the wood scales would look on my Damascus Elementum...

After a few weeks of watching knife reviews on Blade HQ, Nick Shabazz, Metal Complex, and a few others I had pretty high expectations for that fidget factor. I am not disappointed.

Perfect edc?

At first glance you say why all the love for this knife? In all the years looking for the perfect edc, I purchased hundreds of folders and there have been a few that were almost perfect. This one suprized me. It has all those perfect features. Great smooth feel and the detent is perfection. Comfortable in the pocket with a nice deep clip. perfect size and weight. Simple Walker read more lock that dosnt stick. Great steel. Nice blade shape. Awsome slicer. Feels and looks like a custom. I'm a sucker for natural g10. The best is the price. It seems like it should cost 5 times more than it does. S35v is a great upgrade that is usually found in high end knives

I bought a few knives in the last week and they all arrived yesterday. Surprisingly this was the cheapest and hands down my favorite out of the bunch! Beautiful blade with no billboard, the micarta is something you can't explain until you hold it! Almost Perfect EDC Great Price

Da J.

This is a really wonderful EDC, even better at the price point. Comfortable, amazing action, looks great. Hard to beat this knife for the price. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the pocket clip.

There are three problems with it: a) the end of it sticks out too far from the knife, b) its not actually all that wide so it doesnt actually sit all the way down in read more my pocket, and worst c) there is a little ledge where the pocket clip is attached to the knife that catches on my pocket and tears up my pants. If it were smooth or the pocket clip were as nice as the knife, this is a 5 star knife.

Some kind of perfect

Bill P.

I purchased the Elementum with the ebony scales. It is hard for me to find any fault with this knife. The opening is smooth, the fit and finish leaves nothing to be desired, the blade is just the right thickness, the jimping right on the money, it take us little room in my pocket, and the D2 steel takes and holds the edge for any task it set for it. I have other (too many) EDC knives, read more all of which have something I like about them. They're autos or larger or have different handle materials and so on, but this Elementum is, for its engineering, price, and value, as close to a perfect folding knife as I've seen.

Great Knife especially on a budget

Gavin m.

The knife is great, all of it is. The blade has a fairly good blade steel especially for the price.Scales look nice and I am definitely glad I got the ebony wood instead of the g-10. Then my only gripe with the knife is that when you hold it when you close it feels inexplicably cheap sometimes. It shouldn't but it does. Dont get me wrong this is not a reason to not buy this knife read more its just quite odd. and I cant tell what it is.

Solid blade!

I have the same model with the brass scales. I love it but there’s something about this model that makes you want to buy more in different colors. I love the orange and it’s a bit lighter than the brass model but it has great action and it’s just the right size for every day carry

Best EDC Knife

Kevin B.

I have literally no complaints with this knife. $50 for micarta and D2!!! Super smooth action, like all Civivi knives. The micarta is definitely good micarta and the blade shape is very utilitarian. Deep carry pocket clip makes it a very good EDC if not one of the best for the price. I love this knife.

Great knife, terrible action

Matt K.

Love the size, the shape, & the knife serves its purpose...it cuts things. The action is incredibly sticky & stiff, though. I've had it for a few months now & it hasn't improved. I've heard Civivi knives have great, smooth action so this surprises/disappoints me.

Simple and classy IMHO. Thin grip. Easy to hold onto with my medium sized hands. Deep Pocket carry is now a must for me after getting this as my first. Sharp Blade out of the box. Smooth flipping action. My first Civivi. Likely, not my last unless the wife catches on.

Great little EDC

Joel M.

Quite simply this little knife checks all the boxes. The flipper tab is comfortable with just the right amount of jimping and it flips great. The blade geometry is spot on with a great blade steel and came razor sharp. The pocket clip holds really well without being too aggressive. For the money, I think it's one of the best EDC knives you will find.

Outstanding Value

John W.

The fit and finish is excellent, surpassing many more expensive knives. It holds nicely for its size. Opening is easy and oh so smooth. Closing is easily accomplished with one hand. The same premium steel utilized by CRK. For well under $100, it holds its own against a number of more expensive options!

Great at first..

After a year the blade tip is warping a little and the pocket clip has little retention. The knife has slipped out of my pocket a few times.

Hype is Real

Dan D.

The Elementum has been such a great surprise. This knife came pretty damn perfect out of the box. The blade was centered, edges on the handle and spines were nicely smooth and the detent was solid. The only modification I made was a drop or two of reel oil and the action became snappier and smooth. Also, the micarta looks different than pictured here. It is less OD green and more read more of dark forest green.

I got this knife mainly for the micarta handles and to see if the hype was real. The handles are smooth with just enough texture to keep it interesting. It feels likes very finely sound wood before a sealing treatment. The action is also easily the best of the knives I own, and that includes the Ferrum Forge Mini-Archbishop. I can't believe they did all this in $50.

Incredible!!!

Richard D.

The Elementum with the Micarta feels awesome. Action is very snappy. The case and cloth are a special touch that really makes this an awesome gift for anyone that loves knives. The Elementum is affordable enough for someone wanting to get into knives without breaking the bank, and I am left handed and sadly the pocket clip is not reversible, but that would not stop me from buying read more more of these. The knife looks, feels, and performs way above the price.

I have purchased 6 elementums and so far this one is my favorite. The wood tone coupled with the black metal is just so beautiful on top of this great design.

Light weight, narrow width, sharp, smooth and reliable action, simple public-friendly lines, perfect size for the pocket, scale texture makes it easy to clip/unclip... its everything I want in pocket knife.

Very happy with it

It's been a great intro to EDC for me. Good size, action, deep carry pocket clip. With no modifications or oil added, the only time it doesn't deploy fully is if I don't open it correctly.
Definitely worth the cost!

Really nice knife.

Came perfect out of the box. No need to sharpen, tune, etc. Detent is right on the money, action is smooth and crisp. Aesthetics 10/10

Not my first, or last, CIVIVI...

I've heard so much positive feedback on the Elementum that I had to get this one in Carbon Fiber. The reviews are true. Typical buttery smooth CIVIVI action that makes it difficult to not open the blade all the way with a press to the flipper. The Elementum is definitely a nice size and weight for EDC. You will not be disappointed with this knife.

Elementum & Micarta

I read and watched alot of reviews and this knife does not disappoint. The Micarta uplevels this knife, it came very sharp and while the frame lock is not my thing I am getting used to it. The action is solid on the flip and carries very well, standard deep pocket clip was a bonus. All good.

Great Blade

Two Thumbs Up

I don't own a ton of knives, maybe 5 or 6, but this is by far my favorite. It is surprisingly lightweight. I love the deep pocket carry clip. I enjoy it every time I take it out of my pocket. Feels like a high-end knife without the high-end price.

Good flipper, but things to consider

I used this knife as a donor for my s35vn version. Some notes:

- this version has the micarta scales, which imo are better than the G10 scales on the s35vn version (more grip, while having a more premium feel).

-the micarta gets a nice darker patina over time. All micarta isn't created equal, and this micarta is good. It has more fiber than all other micarta knives read more i have.

- I like the s35vn version's thinner blade stock more. That version is "slicier" than this version without being too delicate.

-Yes, you can swap the scales if you had two knives.

-Considering this is a D2 blade, you'll likely want to get some EDCi to avoid corrosion.

Overall, if you can't wait for the s35vn variant, this is a good knife. Things to consider with both versions:

- The action is amazing on both, but it could be intimidating for some people. My girlfriend, for instance, gets weirded out when I'm flicking it. You can two-hand open if needed, but no other way to easily open with one hand.

-The micarta is plenty grippy for me.

-The lock bar gimping is a little too aggressive for me and I had to hit it with a dremel to smooth it out. I want my knife to be fidget worthy and this gimping was causing too much thumb pain. Not an issue if you don't fidget with your knives, but who doesn't? Not a deal breaker, but something to consider.

-The pivot screw is held in place by a small notch in the scale itself (so it doesn't rotate when you loosen/tighten it). Most knives have a groove in the pivot collar itself. DO NOT over tighten this pivot, or you can crack the little notch on the scale. I think this is a poor design for maintenance. And yes, I've cracked one...

Great knife at a great price!

It is great as many have mentioned. Very smooth opening knife. Not the heaviest and not the lightest but is just right especially for EDC. The wood scales are great looking and make the knife more a lot more attractive.

Not my first civivi and my first damascus knife. Well balanced lightweight and the best looking knife that I own. Have a lot of budget knives that I use on a daily basis including a g - 10 elementum. I liked it so much I wanted a fancier one. Attention to detail is outstanding and the action is the best on any knife I own. Can't go wrong with a Civivi !

Detent

Ely E.

I like the knife a lot. The micarta is nice, the blade is sharp and has a nice profile. It the perfect size carry. I gave it three stars for two reasons. The detent on this knife was so stiff I had to pull the blade out with my fingers the first couple of time. I'm hoping the detent track will wear in over time but its almost unusable until that happens. All the reviews raved about read more the action so maybe I just got a dud. I'm not sure how much quality control you can expect with a $50 knife. The second negative for me was the pocket clip. Its right hand tip up only. The clip really digs into my fingers when trying to open the knife with the stiff flipper. This knife would have been five stars if I would have got the action seen in so many review videos.

Classy and as good as they say!

Did I NEED a new knife? Well, no. But I got suckered by the awesome reviews...

But, it's as good as they say! Snappy action out of the box, perfect EDC size for me, and the micarta scales are velvety and grippy. (Saw some with the brown claim they were slick...but my dark green certainly isn't).

I think CIVIVI is pushing the envelope on EDC knives, and some of the read more big brands are going to have to step up their game. Fantastic knife, zippered case, micro fiber cloth. Sure, some of this it may seem like fluff, but it's extra value...on a $50 knife!

And for those, (like me), who might be turned off by the word "green", this knife does match the picture above, where it isn't REALLY green, but more of a gray with a green tinge. Classy looking.

There's nothing I can say about the Elementum that hasn't already been said. Excellence at its price.
This form of the knife is at home as an EDC, or in an office that would allow it without drawing all the attention in the room. With the tradition of wood scales and sixe it would also be acceptable with a suit without being out of place.

Awesome knife!

I love my first Elementum which is blackened brass with a stonewash blade. When I saw this one I couldn't pass up the looks of the beautiful wood and black blade. Another great addition to my ever growing collection of EDCs, not enough days in the week, or maybe even month to give them all their own day lol.

This knife is great! Slim, lightweight, deep pocket carry clip and razor-sharp right out of the box. Unbelievable quality for the price. I originally bought the ebony wood version but it was not "grippy" enough for me. The micarta handle is perfect and looks great too. I highly recommend this knife!

Low cost price with high cost feel

I'm always somewhat skeptical of lower cost folding knives, having had some pretty bad ones in the past, however I was blown away by this knife! The action is buttery smooth, the micarta has great texture and doesn't feel like it will ever slip out of my hand, and the pocket clip has strong retention for a secure fit in my pocket. The blade has no play at all as well as a perfect read more center. The knife is also very easy to disassemble and reassemble for maintenance or modification if you're into that. So far I have no complaints with my elementum and will definitely be watching civivi.

I love this knife. Its so light in the hand, and the blade is so sharp and can cur anything. I ended up rit dyeing mine purple and putting glitter paint on it and it beautiful. I recommend this knife to any and everyone. If your a beginner knife collector or just need a good knife for everyday use this is the knife you have to have.

Shipped razor-sharp and silky smooth! My only complaint is that I wish the micarta was a little smoother! I was hoping for something closer to my Ace Biblio in texture

Incredible Knife For The Money

This was my first experience with Civivi and this Elementum is an incredible value. The blade and the scales look and feel wonderful. The blade came very sharp from the factory. It is also an extremely light knife; a very easy carry. Super happy!

I love this knife for my edc. I actually wanted a smaller knife and didn't realize the size of this knife when I ordered it. So when I opened the box, I was not happy with the size. It's larger than what I typically carry. However, I was wrong. I thought that I would give it a try and see what I thought. This knife is super light weight, fits in my pocket perfectly and is a great read more edc knife. The blade is sharp. It opens easily. High quality. I would think that this knife would cost three times what I paid. I do wish that I could flip the clip to the other side of the handle. I prefer to clip it to my pocket on the other side of the knife. But it's not a big thing. Buy this knife. You will be happy.

This knife is a budget stud of a tool! The steel is plenty sharp, and the knife comes with a carrying case and polishing cloth.

What other knife at this price point comes with that?!?!

The knife itself is very well built and has a heavy feel to it compared to your benchmade bugout.

If youre looking at buying a very nice quality knife without hurting the bank read more account, this it!

I purchased the ebony a few months ago because it was more available but jumped on this when I saw it. I have had some issues with the action on the ebony but this one is perfect. Came very sharp. Really eye-catching. Great weight. Very happy with the purchase.

Amazing EDC Value

This knife honestly blew me away. Two years ago I was barely into knives and decided to buy a Kersaw Mini Copper Natrix over this. I enjoy the mini natrix, but the locking bar on mine is too difficult to close one handed and the flipper hurts after fidgeting. I should've gone with this blade. The G-10 feels great, the blade was razor sharp out of the box, so easy to open and close read more one handed. Mine came with the free lanyard from BHQ (a little too big for the holes on this guy but made it work). The packaging and presentation was amazing from China. It came with a fuzzy carrying case with a microfiber cloth as well. This, especially with D2 and G10, is probably one of the better value budget knifes besides the Ontario Rat 2 in D2 that will serve you well.

PERFECT!

I really love this knife. Everything I need in a pocket knife & nothing I don't need. Beautiful & utilitarian. Also, the orange scales make it easy to find in a low light situation.

Step 1: Buy this. Become a Knife Guy.

Over the past year, I’ve tried to learn more about knives, and knife culture. I devote time each week to watching the video offerings from BladeHQ; I take time to explore how the knives are made, the history of the companies, and how they can find a place in my daily carry. When it comes to my friends and colleagues, I am constantly seeking for gifts, and the properly selected read more knife can be their lifelong companion.

In my knife journey, I have heard the praise lauded onto the Civivi Elementum, and knew that at some point, I would need to experience the knife.

The Civivi Elementum is not what I expected from a knife, and that is what makes it great. This was my first time feeling the texture of micarta, and I absolutely loved the velvet softness of the material! This was my first time with a “flipper” knife that had ball-bearings to control the opening action, and with one flick, I understood the smooth and confident movement! When I went to close the knife, with my thumb crossing the path of the blade to move the liner lock, the blade gracefully collapsed into the handle. It was beautiful to experience! However, it also made me mindful that I have to be very careful, before I injure myself with the closing action, since the blade closes without any pause. Keep your finger clear! This knife requires your attention, and intention, to wield, even casually.

It was such a “Wow” moment, to finally hold this hallowed knife in my hand. I felt like I’d “made it,” because this was my first foray out of my knife comfort zone, and it left nothing to be desired. The Elementum was a good-sized, adept, discrete knife; it doesn’t draw attention to itself, it simply goes to work, completes its tasks, and returns home.

Go get one, you will love it! Find the version that calls to you. Know that all the hype is true, and that it's going to be an enthralling experience that brings a smile to your face, every time you hold it in your hand!

Elementally Better

Mitchell B.

Elementums are the perfect "gift" knife for ambassadors to spread the joy around. And what better way than this beauty.
Pros: All the great things you have come to expect from the Elementum, but an even sharper and more beautiful jade green color, and better blade steel to complement that wonderful hollow grind.

Cons: Seemed to be pretty limited in production numbers - read more but hopefully there will truly be more next round.

Overall: Not much to add but this knife is both functional, artful, and a nice tool in the hand. I prefer the blackened coating against the jade green G10 versus this blasted steel one - but this one is nice too. At least they used the proper color of hardware for the finish (brushed versus blackened like other Elementums).

Everyone I've shown this knife to has been seriously impressed by the level of quality for the price. Zero blade flex/wobble, smooth flip, and the perfect size and weight. Shipping was pretty quick too; I'd for sure buy the knife and buy from Blade HQ again.

Finally got it

Richard K.

I have wanted an Elementum since I first saw it last year. I somehow seemed to be asleep at the wheel whenever they received some. I finally got the marbled carbon fiber, but really wanted Micarta. One day, while doing my best to avoid work, I went to the Blade HQ website to see how my impulse control was working. I was doing pretty good until I decided to see if there was anything read more new in Elementums. Brown Micarta. Impulse control is still busted, but it's a beautiful knife. Every once in a while I will cut something up with it. Most of the time I just look at it, play with it, and put it back in my pocket. I'm easily amused. What a great knife. Great selection. 3 day delivery. Impulse control is not all that it's cracked up to be.
