Ratings and Reviews
Some kind of perfect
I purchased the Elementum with the ebony scales. It is hard for me to find any fault with this knife. The opening is smooth, the fit and finish leaves nothing to be desired, the blade is just the right thickness, the jimping right on the money, it take us little room in my pocket, and the D2 steel takes and holds the edge for any task it set for it. I have other (too many) EDC knives,… read more all of which have something I like about them. They're autos or larger or have different handle materials and so on, but this Elementum is, for its engineering, price, and value, as close to a perfect folding knife as I've seen.
Great Knife especially on a budget
The knife is great, all of it is. The blade has a fairly good blade steel especially for the price.Scales look nice and I am definitely glad I got the ebony wood instead of the g-10. Then my only gripe with the knife is that when you hold it when you close it feels inexplicably cheap sometimes. It shouldn't but it does. Dont get me wrong this is not a reason to not buy this knife… read more its just quite odd. and I cant tell what it is.
Great Knife for the Money
I really like this knife. It looks great, it has a great action, it has an acceptable steel, and it is priced appropriately. I kept off one star because it just feels a little cheap in hand. I don't know how to explain it. It feels like a knife that should cost much less when you handle it. This may be due to the extremely thin wooden grips being inset from the edge and the liners… read more also being very thin. It is a great knife overall, though. And it came sharp from factory. I was testing drop shut capabilities and promptly dropped the edge on my thumb slicing cleanly into it. Impressive. I would recommend this to a friend.
Classy & Fidget Friendly
I am new to the knife EDC scene and when deciding on what to carry this knife made recurring appearances in all of the reviews. I cannot be more pleased and excited. The blade is extremely sharp out of the box, the action is quick and efficient; and the ebony scales add a very nice touch of class and gentlemanliness that I was looking for. Comfortable to hold and easy to carry -… read more though I spend most of the time flipping the blade open because it is just so satisfying!
Amazing knife!
Absolutely love this knife! The ebony-wood makes it look pretty classy. I almost don't want to use it because it looks so pretty. The D2 blade has good edge retention, I've had it for a while and haven't had to sharpen it once. Overall it's a really good, affordable knife and I definitely recommend it as a good EDC option.
Best knife I could find for the price
I am fairly new to buying pocket knives, but from what I can tell you can't get a pocket knife that is this well made with a D2 steel blade at this price anywhere. Being that I do a lot of woodworking, I was a little disappointed in the finish on my ebony wood scales. Actually, just one of them. The finish is blotchy on about 1/4 of the scale, and then there is a small shiny ring… read more where too much finish was likely applied or at least not wiped off properly. This is still the best knife I have ever owned as it is super sharp out of the box, fit and finish is great except for the finish on the wood.
Disappointing
This is a great EDC size knife. I love the blade and it was razor sharp out of the box.
However, the action on this knife is horrible. There is a LOT of drag on the blade. Between the drag from the liner lock and the drag in the blade pivot itself, it's very difficult to flip open without really whipping my wrist a ridiculous amount. It certainly isn't "buttery-smooth flipper…

action".
My 30 year old Buck 110 opens smoother than this knife. I'm very disappointed with this knife and would not recommend it at all.
Great knife, but scales are just ok.
The Elementum is a great knife. Perfect size for EDC in my state (just under 3 inches), action is really good and the overall design is elegant and useful.
The ebony scales look good, but they arrived with a bunch of small scratches. I bought it to give it as a gift, so i returned them and ordered another one. The second one arrived with the same issue, small scratches on…

the wood, some looking like scuff marks from being carried. Not sure if both knives were returns of if that is a characteristic of the wood (which is weird as ebony is supposed to be a very hard wood). Anyway, not a good option for gifting, as they look used.
In summary, the knife is great for the price, but i would not recommend the wood handles based on my experience.
Excellent knife
I am very pleased with this knife. The action is smooth and the ebony scales make it classy. The blade is so beautiful I almost feel guilty for having it engraved. Great knife at an awesome price. Highly recommend.
Great knife for the price
excellent knife, smooth action, razor sharp out of the box. biggest complaint is the non reversible pocket clip. Seems like an obvious and easy modification that would have earned this knife 5 stars in my book.
Smooth
Very surprised with the smooth action and razor sharp blade. The ebony handle scales and sophisticated finish make this a great casual/business dress carry knife. My first Civivi purchase so I was ready to criticize its faults but COULD NOT find any. Don't hesitate on this one.
Civivi Gent?
The Elementum is to Civivi as the Gent is to WE. Very similar in appearance. For the money, this is an excellent knife. Inexpensive enough to warrant EDC treatment. Inexpensive enough to pick up handle/blade variations. Hope an aftermarket community develops to offer more scale options like for the Pilar.
The Action
This knife has a such a smooth and satisfying action. I find myself just sitting around opening and closing the knife. It came very sharp and the wood is so clean. Highly recommend.
Just fantastic
Decent sharpness out of the box. Just a perfect size for an EDC, not overly big or too small. With the tight deep pocket clip, it disappears in the pocket. I can't vouch for the other handle colors, but my first thought on the ebony and satin finish is that it just screams gentleman's knife; pure elegance in hand. Believe the hype.
Great knife
Really love this knife! Got it quickly, came with a great edge. Action is solid and it slides into my pocket like it was always meant to be there.
If you can only have one knife...
This just may be the one.
As you can see by most of the other reviews here, this is a great little knife.
Everything regarding the fit, finish, etc. is on point.
Action is great.
Also, i personally find it aesthetically pleasing.
I think everyone should have one.
My 2nd Elementum....
Bought the Brown Micarta Elementum and loved it, I had to grab the ebony wood handled model. Blade was slightly less sharpened than the Brown Micarta knife, but yes it is sharper than any other factory knife you'll buy, and the black Ebony wood handles are a nice touch. Thanks to Civivi/BHQ for another quality EDC knife to add to my ever growing collection!
Nice WOW factor...
This is my first pocket knife and i got it off a recommendation from a YouTuber I follow. I have to admit I was nervously waiting to get it since this was the first time i get something so personal in choice with out seeing it in person first. I am blown away by the looks, feel and action of this knife. For the cost, it is punching above its weight. I look forward to showing this… read more beauty of ever chance i get....
A touch of class @ a great Value!
I've been carrying as my EDC for about a week! The black ebony and black pocket clip provide a discreet appearance for work setting (office work mainly). Gave it to co-worker to open a box and they were impressed by build quality and feel, while not being intimidated with a "knife" in their place of work. The D2 blade has been tough and has been making short work of breaking down… read more boxes for recycling. Overall very pleased and thinking of other CIVIVIs in the future.
Great for EDC
Well built, feels solid, sharp edge and retains it pretty well. I got the ebony wood as the G-10 black was out of stock and I do like the look and feel, a bit of a more finished look. I'd recommend it!
Returned Item
The lock did not engage the blade more than 25-30% of the thickness of the blade.
Additionally, the action was solid but boring, the blade looks boring, the size is boring and the entire knife is so utterly, mind-numbingly boring.
LOVE hollow grind. Wish more folders were hollow-ground. Hence 2 stars
Beautiful knife!!!
I just got the knife in today so i haven't been able to use it yet. however, the knife comes in a cool case and is razor sharp right out of the box. The ebony handles are amazing and the ergonomics on the knife make it comfortable to hold. This knife will definitely be used in my EDC.
Lovely EDC - Almost Perfect
There's a lot to like about this knife:
fit & finish, QC control, easy flipping action, deep carry clip, minimal billboarding, nice shape/design, etc. etc.
There's 3 reasons it doesn't get a perfect 5 stars:
1. I would prefer that the handles were made flush with the steel liners.
2. The handles are flat. I would have preferred a little contouring.
3. The sharpening…

Other than these nitpicks, this knife is a great value and I would highly recommend it.
Virgin EDC
As the title states and proud to say a Virgin EDC. For awhile now, I have been wanting a nice light EDC. I've watched several BHQ video's, several YouTube vlogers. So many and so confusing I was getting vertigo from comparing this one and that one. I watched the last 2 videos by Blade and both times the Civivi Elementum was spotlighted. Now my hands are not like the "Christmas Hams… read more you will know if you watch the videos" but the complete opposite. However, the C.E fits nicely and the blade action is smooth. Granted I may not know all the lingo but the ebony wood, smooth action, light weight, fits nice in the pocket and hand which truly makes it a gentlemen's every day carry. Would I recommend it? Hell Yes
Flipping fun!
The fact that I can purchase a knofe of this quality at this price is amazing. The action is slippery smooth and the blade comes out looking great. Untouched by and writing or advertisement. The wood scales are beautiful and classy. My only gripe with this knife is the way the flipper front protrudes out and makes a weaker feeling purchase. It’s a very small handle and some of… read more it you can’t grab because the flipper takes up the space. It makes me want to choke up on the handle a little bit but it feels unsafe if I do that and the blade slips.
Simple and elegant edc
Wonderful gentleman's knife. The quality of craftsmanship is outstanding. The ebony wood scale is beautiful.
One of my favorites!
I haven't had this knife very long and it keeps kicking other knives out of my pocket. Carries beautifully with that deep carry clip (with the recessed screws.... Thx for listening WE) and cuts like a light saber. Fit and finish is top notch, which is what I've come to expect from civivi. Don't even think twice just get it and enjoy a nice knife.
Excellent quality
The fit and finish of this knife is amazing from the wood scales to the pivot screw every little detail just gets better as you enjoy it.
Love it!
Perfect gentleman's knife. Great Civivi fit & finish. Can't go wrong with this one.
