Unbelievably sharp.
This is my first premium knife. I've had a number of knives all under $100. I have always wanted an OTF knife since I first saw the knife fight in 'West Side Story' so after 60 years I figured I'd earned it.
When I read that if I sharpened the knife myself it voided the warrantee I was a little put off, but when I used it for the first time I understand why.

razor sharp, and I mean that literally. The first time I cut through an Amazon package the knife pass through so easily it barely touched my finger with the tip - not enough to draw blood, surely, wrong it passed through the skin like it wasn't even there.
Only downside is the effort to push the ejector button, the step grading on the slide hurt my thumb for the first few days and I needed to build up hand strength to activate it.
I love they engrave the month and year on the pocket clip. This knife will be passed down in my family for generations, I'm sure grandchildren yet unborn will pass it on to their kids and marvel at '08/2020'..

Better than expected

That MIcrotech feeling!
There is a certain wonderful feeling you get when you set out looking for something specific and find exactly what you want. As a new collector one of my first "must haves" was a couple of Microtechs and now I have this one and a UTX-85. Mine came in CTS-204P which wasn't really sharp but certainly good enough and I absolutely love it.
Awesome knife !
I cant say enough good things about this knife ! Feels great in the hand. The action is fast and firm. Sharp as can be out of the box ! The glass breaker is an awesome feature and super handy for those of us on patrol. If you're in law enforcement or just want a solid OTF knife then this is it.
Near perfect
The only thing that would make this knife better is to implement the mechanism on the Dead Lock to eliminate blade play. Still, blade play on this knife is much better than any other OTF knife I've handled, cough* cough* Benchmade Infidel.
Solid craftsmanship
I wanted an OTF automatic knife for a while since Michigan changed the law on autos, and I researched a lot and held a lot of different knifes in stores. I decided to go with the Ultratech! And I ordered it from Blade HQ.

Update:
When I received this Ultratech it was very unreliable for the first day. I called Microtech and told them about the issue and they asked me to clean the inside with compressed air and oil the mechanicals properly, if that didnt work they would be glad to bring the knife back and make sure it was right. I cleaned and oiled the knife and it has yet to malfunction! I love the fit and finish. The knife is very solid and properly crafted.
When you get your Microtech in the mail properly clean and oil it to brake it in the right way and it perform flawlessly
